Choose the right container
Use a pot with a generous drainage hole that is only a few inches wider than the root ball. Unglazed terracotta helps excess moisture escape.
Grow what fits the life you want to live—not simply what fits the space.
Create sharp drainage
Choose a gritty potting mix and keep the crown slightly above the final soil level. Empty saucers after watering.
Give it real sun
Aim for at least six hours of direct sun. Rotate the pot occasionally for even growth.
